I have a Yamaha PSR-290 that has all the techno and ambient sounds i would need, but i don’t know how people record/mix. What kind of software/hardware would I need to record and mix, or can i just create and mix it all on the computer?Submited by:G. I. Jew

I think I’d use Garageband from the iLife ‘09 Suite. You’d need an adapter to plug your keyboard in but Garageband will record it and once you have it recorded, you can edit it, add loops and do all sorts of awesome stuff with it.
Well, I know some people use a program called Fruity Loops Studio to make techno, there’s probably other variations of this program as well.
Try fruityloop, you can easily download tutorials and possibly the program itself for free on the internet
You could simply record the sounds with something free like Audacity:
I use FL Studio Producer Edition myself to record and create electronic music. You can use it to record sounds from your Yamaha, or trigger it via MID out channels. Check it here:

I think I recommend Fruity loop
